New York Assembly Hears Testimony Critical of Rockefeller Laws
Attorney James Ostrowski was one of many critics of current drug policy to testify before the New York State Assembly Codes Committee June 8 on the impact of the tough Rockefeller drug laws. One third of that state's 65,000 prisoners are drug offenders. The Codes Committee is considering reduction of mandatory minimums to ease overcrowding, Ostrowski told NewsBriefs.
