Former Durham, N.C. Prosecutor Charged With Cocaine Trafficking

A former Durham, North Carolina prosecutor, Karl Leathers, was arrested March 19 and charged with multiple counts of cocaine trafficking (Paul Bonner, "Former Assistant DA Leathers Faces Drug Charges," Durham Herald Sun, 3/20/93, A1).

Leathers was an assistant district attorney in Durham from 1989 until January 1990, when he resigned after being charged with drunken driving. He is now in private practice in Durham. Before becoming a prosecutor in Durham, Leathers worked as an assistant DA in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
