Seventy-five percent of the 51,797 readers responding to a PARADE MAGAZINE self-initiated dial-back telephone poll say marijuana should be made as legal as alcohol ("What Readers Say About Marijuana," Parade, p. 16) Readers called with their votes in response to the article "Should Marijuana be Legal," published July 12, 1994.

Other results:

• 89% say marijuana should be legal as a medical treatment.
   
• 35% of callers use marijuana frequently.
   
• Nearly 20% have never used marijuana.
